We are happy to welcome our newest member, The Shade Foundation of America. The Shade Foundation of America was founded with the simple truth that through the education of children, parents and educators, along with community involvement, we can prevent the spread of melanoma. The Foundation promotes sun safety education and awareness by hosting community events and engaging families and educators in educational programs. The Foundation annually sponsors the National Sun Safety Poster Contest, in which children from kindergarten to eight grade create illustrations depicting sun safety practices. The winners of the contest are flown to D.C. for an awards reception attended by Members of Congress and representatives from Administrative agencies. By promoting the adoption of simple and daily sun safety habits, we can prevent kids from ever undergoing the painful and expensive treatments needed to remove skin cancer. www.shadefoundation.org
